April Flores: “Solo” with her own and, later, with Buck Angel’s pussy

April Flores and Buck “The Man with a Pussy” Angel will be featured in the summer issue of Sexis, the sex culture magazine that is distributed with BUST.

Though Maxim, Playboy, Penthouse, and Hustler all have higher circulations than BUST’s 85,000, only three of BUST’s readers also subscribe to any of those magazines, so Flores and Angel will instantly have 84,997 more fans come June who have nothing to do with the porn industry, and who still believe in the notion of buying things.

Speaking of buying, Flores has a new movie called SOLO, and the first 69 (get it??) purchasers will get a special item.

I spoke with Carlos Batts, Flores’ husband and primary marketer of the Flores brand, about the couple’s indie sensibility.

“The people who like our work and style can start buying directly from us,” he said. “Performers and artists now have the chance to get the work they create directly to thier audience without thousands of meetings with people who don’t get it or know what’s going on in the rest of the world. There are a lot of different colors, shapes, sizes and locations for people to enjoy and discover. The corporations will churn out mediocrity in masses.”

While his high-minded artist words impressed me, you must remember that I am just a shirtsleeves-wearing, hard-drinking, clock-punching slob. This is when Flores chimed in.

“You should buy the movie,” she said. “I orgasm really hard a bunch of times and squirt all over the fire escape.”

  1. I clicked here because of the words “April Flores,” I almost (almost, I say, indignantly!) clicked off because of the words “the sex culture magazine.”

And I know many are into Buck Angel–presumably the academic-sexuality coffee klatch and certain blocks of the Mission, Valencia side–but I’m regardless always kind of surprised and impressed by Buck’s relative ubiquity in the straight porn world, a surprising-ubiquity not seen since Chi Chi LaRue.

I won’t be jerking off to either–Buck always reminded me of my Uncle Kurt out in the boonies–but I wish them both well in their ventures ans otherwise.

  2. Furthermore, I can say from personal experience that both are genuinely nice people and I wish them every success.

But I wondered the other day what would happen to me at the hands of the cliterati if I didn’t have a kneejerkedly nice and “sex positive” reaction to those two. As if giving voice to a disinclination to have sex with either (or anyone, really – a homeless person, Nancy Pelosi, Tera Patrick, your mom – ) makes me a bad person, politico-sexually.

  3. Well, that comment of mine wouldn’t have passed muster if the internet required a breathalyzer test, but I’m apt to believe that those circles are OK with you not objectifying them as sex objects as long as you respect them as sex objects.

Hmmm. I’m sober now and that still didn’nt sound entirely right, but I think you know what I mean.

  4. You’re both intolerant bad people. Bad. Bad.

DAMMIT!!! when was Buck in town?!!!
Do you know how badly I want to interview him?

I’m all la-de-da, “I can get April (and Carlos) because they live here… but gotta wait till Buck comes up from Mexico.”
    Damn you Gram.
    I’m jealous.
