A bad-ass Russian, Yuri (John Strong), traverses Los Angeles collecting (or trying to collect) cash for his cousin Dimitri (Bill Bailey). Though he never collects a cent, we all learn a little more about the right way to make a porn parody along the way.

Even if you are not a fan of videogames like “Grand Theft Auto,” you will appreciate Daring! director Dawn’s efforts in recreating the tension, the grittiness, and the camera style common to narrative games in this well-acted, funny, and fast-paced hardcore video.
Yuri lays on a thick and silly Russian accent (Strong is definitely the star of this show) as he dispatches with a Stoner Fuck (Anthony Rosano), a Rat (Dieter von Stein), and a Junkyard Dog (Chris Johnson) on his ill-starred money-gathering mission, letting each of them have one last fuck with partners Carolyn Reese, Sadie West, and Monique Alexander along the way.
Whoever director Dawn is (it is definitely a man giving directions in the BTS segments), he brings a fresh, European eye to directing porn in Los Angeles, making this porn movie a mini-travelogue of the downtown area.
Perhaps because it is a European directing it, “Grand Theft Auto XXX” features some of our favorite pornstresses in stereotypically American roles, such as Sadie West as a 60’s trophy wife (an archetype repopularized by Amy Winehouse), and especially Kagney Linn Karter as a busty diner waitress.
In addition, “GTA XXX” is not only shot and edited well, but each of the women are costumed (and uncostumed) lovingly.
Not only that, but unlike some parodies that forget to include the the one thing the title refers to (“Scooby Doo XXX,” for example), “GTA XXX” actually shows a car theft.
While it is a bit overlong and not all the actors are on board for the style, “GTA XXX” is a great movie and an excellent example of a smart team effort. I think it is also the first porn parody since “Who’s Nailin’ Paylin” that didn’t take as its source material a movie or a TV show.
