It is difficult to put into words the cognitive dissonance at work when adult performers one knows as frank and wry sexual athletes play porn not for laughs, or for filthiness, but for romance.
Linda lost her husband more than a year ago and is pretty despondent about it. The girls at the flower shop where she works convince her to track down his donated parts, which she does, resulting in each of the lucky recipients breaking off a piece for the flower ladies.
Usually in porn movies the concept of “sorrow” is interpreted as sexual anger. Here we watch Bobbi Starr on the verge of big round tears for several scenes before she finally gets her groove back. Helping her along are Kimberly Kane, Zoe Voss, and Allie Haze as characters that are New Agey, Sporty, and Dorky, respectively, and who each get a corresponding dude in Danny Mountain, Michael Vegas, and Rocco Reed.
As Linda summarizes, “I thought I would find a piece of Max inside of them, other than the actual piece of Max, but I found myself.”
MYSELF.
While this movie was not for me, it is just the type of thing to gently lead certain porn-averse viewers into the fold (as it were).
