I Like It When They’re “Trashy”

Watching “Trashy,” an unapologetically fantastic piece of porn featuring delightfully modified harlots having sex in uncomfortable places, I realized that the recent trend of comparatively wholesome porn—women in sunlit bedrooms peeling off their boyfriends’ t-shirts and kicking off their sneakers to fuck on a comforter—is still a fetish.

Starring: Juelz Ventura, Christy Mack, Angelina Valentine, Angela Summers, Candy Manson, Brandy Aniston, Tommy Gunn, Barry Scott, Seth Gamble, Ty Cummings

“Trashy,” on the other hand, is a comfortable return to Porn Valley form circa 1996 albeit with better muscle tone, editing, music, lighting, and choreography. Maybe I don;t want to live here and wake up to it every morning, but I’d totally check out my options at one of its local Extended Stay motels.

You look at people like Juelz Ventura, Christy Mack, and Angelina Valentine, stars of the first three scenes, and don’t think for a second that they are healthy girlfriend material. And this is fine, because this is not a girlfriend movie (there is only one girl/girl scene in the film and that is, despite the bolt-ons and high heels, less trashy than I would have liked); it’s a late-nite fantasy of women in torn fishnets and shaved labe, sporting just the smallest and most intoxicating amount of belly fat, fucking dudes in a convertible on a soundstage.

It’s a movie about the abomination-lipped Christy Mack getting fucked face-down in a toilet, and Angelina Valentine getting reamed in the rain.

In other words, these are not women you’d fantasize about going shopping at Ralph’s with, cutting coupons with, listing as your emergency contact at your job, taking care of your dog while you’re at a conference, or taking antiquing. Unless you are all about poor life choices.

(I’ll add that each of these women in real life is perfect girlfriend material, just lovely, really, which makes their performances that much more riveting and evocative.)

As the realization of its director, David Lord, “Trashy” is an orgasmic blend of cars, tattoos, strip clubs, and porn chicks—a pure vision that doesn’t once suggest “tender domestic partnership.”
