Though Madison Young just had a baby six weeks ago, the porn performance artist is ready to start making art in public again. Her show Becoming MILF opens April 19.
[In Becoming MILF] Madison Young [is] a New Breed of Breeder who embraces the Madonna and the Whore at the same time in her multi-media art exhibit that includes a baby quilt made of a juxtaposing combination of burp clothes & porn star panties, onesies printed with erotic photographs featuring Young, video and photo works melding images 60′s iconic mother Jackie Kennedy and iconic slut Marilyn Monroe into a single entity and much more.
There is something terribly wrong about an industry that dubs as milves women who have not given birth, and yet I’d say at least 85 percent of “MILF” porn is actually Women of A Certain Age porn. To add insult to injury, actual milves, like Teagan Presley and Jesse Jane, don’t mention it in their marketing material.
It is like calling someone a porn star upon completion of her/his first movie.
But Young has been a San Francisco force-to-be-reckoned-with for several years, and the movies she has directed and produced have all been heavier on performance, artist’s point of view, and activism than your average erotica. So it makes sense that Young (along with her partner, the excellent fetish director James Mogul) would think about how her new status might be made manifest in Art.
Gram: Can I mention your baby’s name, gender, or approximate birthdate? The last one I’d like to mention simply because any new parent out there will be impressed with how fast you put this together.
Madison Young: I’m happy to have the gender, name, and birthdate mentioned. Emma Louise is a little girl who will be six weeks old on [April 15].
Gram: In addition to having DJs and directing a live sex scene at the opening party on April 22, you will be making breastmilk milkshakes for interested guests. Have you tried one?
Madison: I’ve been perfecting the breastmilk milkshakes at the house but I’m the only one who has tried them so far.
Gram: It makes my heart glad that you waited until becoming a MILF to lay claim to the title. Still, aren’t you merely a MILF-Apparent until you get a medical go-ahead to put the title in practice?
Madison: I just went in for my 5-week [postnatal] appointment and my doctor said that I’ve healed incredibly well and that you can’t even tell that I had a baby a little over a month ago.
Gram: [Aside from the lactating.]
Madison: Anyway, she gave me the thumbs up for penetration which I’m very happy about. Oral sex is always a great option for post natal lovin’ while you are awaiting that clearance from the doctor though.
Madison Young’s Becoming MILF is part of Femina Potens’ Spring ArtGasm; a multi-media visual and performative art celebration of fertility, conception,birth, and motherhood; featuring exhibits including Sadie Lune’s Biological Clock, Madison Young’s Becoming MILF, selected pieces from Womb Nostalgia featuring Rachel Znerold and Amelia D’Entrone’s After Birth which runs from April 19th – 30th in the Michelle O’Connor Gallery in San Francisco.
Opening with djs and performance art on April 22nd 7 – 10pm. As part of the opening on April 22nd Ms Young will be enacting 30 Actions in 30 Hours to Becoming MILF including serving up Breast Milk Ice Cream in Milkshakes and working up a sweat to Jazzercise while simultaneously directing a Live Porn Scene.
