Because I am so late delivering a Montagfoto, I thought I’d overcompensate—as so many do—with trannies.

To my knowledge, that day in North Hollywood was my first tranny shoot, though I may have been to several without knowing it.

I’d been asked by publicist and premier song stylist Jason Sechrest to come to a set featuring transsexual performers Allanah Starr and Gia Darling taking on a woman named Anita Cannibal and a fellow named Jimbo.

I admit that it felt, at first, a little like watching a sporting event where I didn’t know the rules, but after three hours or so I realized that trannies are like everyone else with both penises and rock-hard breasts of muscle, chemicals, and shaping agents: they just want to make their pornography in peace.

It turned out that all of us were doing something for the first time, and that genetic female Anita Cannibal was the glue holding all of us together; Starr had never worked with a bio-woman before, and Cannibal had not, in her recollection, worked with trannies. The cast took a while to get used to one another.

I, for one, learned that transsexuals don’t embrace the term “she-male” and have different words for vaginas than I do.

At one point, Cannibal wandered to another part of the apartment and Gia Darling said, “Bring back the Clam.”

Enjoy the gallery (even though the Pulitzer committee didn’t).
