Both for Easter Monday and April Fools, I’m reminded of “Malice in La La Land” starring Sasha Grey, one of many high-minded and big-budget independent productions that occasionally sweep through Porn Valley and are rarely heard from again.
The company was called Miss Lucifer and it comprised a very professional group of workers: European TV and film personnel who hired some L.A. porn talent and production assistants. They also grabbed several familiar porn locations, like the old Linda Vista Hospital and adult-friendly desert backdrops.
“Malice” happened to be one of several “Alice in Wonderland”-themed movies that were filmed in 2009—Erica McLean and Wicked Pictures both did one (starring Sunny Lane and Stormy Daniels, respectively)—capturing the zeitgeist of a nation obsessed anew with Tom Petty, I guess.
But like many well-intentioned nascent porn companies flush with cash and talent, Miss Lucifer folded after two movies (the other was the equally-ambitious “Hell Is Where the Party Is“).
I offer up these photos to prove once again that Sasha Grey is no scowling killjoy but a woman who thoughtfully grooms Little People dressed as rabbits and who wears fuzzy slippers to the boiler room.
