You’d be amazed how little web-ready clip art there is dealing with hookers, prostitution, or white slavery, so when I do the occasional story on sex work, I have often been at a loss for some graphic to use.
A while ago I put out a call for porn performers willing to be the Official Gram Ponante.com Hooker. I planned to take a roll of photos of them leaning in alleys, bent over car windows, and/or teaching fifth grade. I would then use these images whenever there was a story about prostitution on this site. A great idea, I thought, but no one submitted anything.
Then, after a drunken evening at Jumbo’s Clown Room, Stevens got out of my car and then leaned back in to get something. That is when this momentous photograph was taken.
I am still looking for the Official Gram Ponante.com Hooker, but this photo will do in the meantime; I am hoping it can be adopted as the official logo of the Sex Worker Awareness Project, although it doesn’t show me being enlightened by the experience or anything.
Still, it is very noble.
