I never mistook Nautica Thorn for Mika Tan. I never confused Bree Olson with Ashlynn Brooke. I know the difference between a cabbage and a lettuce. But today I did something unfortunate to Hannah Hilton, seen here with Meggan Mallone.
Hilton was at the Vivid booth, like Superman’s Fortress of Solitude had the Man of Steel chosen to build it with curtains. And I thought, “Oh, there’s Savanna Samson. I liked her in Miles from Needles.”
I got a phone call and I took it. By the time I finished, it was my time to say hello.
“I thought you were great in Miles from Needles,” I said, and about halfway through I realized I had the wrong person.
“I think you’re thinking of someone else,” Hilton said, very politely. That she didn’t know who Savanna Samson was, either, was no consolation.
“You were so wonderful as the big magical negro in The Green Mile,” Mallone did not say.
