January 4 is Hollie Stevens’ birthday. Stevens, the bon vivant porn model who died of cancer last summer at 30, will be remembered this month at the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), where a penthouse suite in her name at the Hard Rock Hotel will offer snacks, massages, makeup, and non-pornographic breast exams to the porn performers appearing at the convention downstairs.
Stevens used the AEE as a week-long birthday party in years when the event landed earlier in January. She was too sick to attend in 2012. But some of my (and many others’) most blissfully ridiculous moments in this line of work were with Hollie, who would hold court at the Peppermill Lounge on the North Strip.
Comedian Eric Cash began a whirlwind romance with Stevens last year at this time. He posted this message on his Facebook page today:
Today is Hollie Stevens’ birthday. If you have someone you love, kiss them, if you have someone you lust, bang them, play a prank on a friend, tell an acoustic guitar player to shut the fuck up, steal someone’s drink, pop the living hell out of some bubble wrap, and dry hump a furrie.
Cash and Stevens wed while she was in the hospital, and she died a few weeks later.
The Hollie Stevens suite is being managed by SolaceSF, the great sex worker aid organization founded by Laura Lasky in San Francisco. DVD/VOD powerhouse Gamelink is footing the bill.

“We at GameLink.com are honored to help carry the memory of Hollie Stevens and raise money for the Hollie Stevens suite at the AVN Expo and Awards,” says Jeff Dillon, Vice President of Business Development for GameLink.com. “Even after Hollie fell victim to the horrible disease of cancer, she continues to bring joy and happiness into people’s lives. All too often we forget that the stars we love to watch have lives off-camera, and sometimes they need help and assistance. SolaceSF is an amazing organization that provides this help and assistance for men and women in the adult entertainment industry. I encourage everyone to donate to this worthwhile cause to help support the industry we so enjoy.”
Stevens specifically requested upon her passing that solaceSF help her honor and benefit her friends, loved ones and co-workers in the adult industry by educating them about their health and the necessity of regular breast exams for women so they may not suffer the same heartbreaking fate. By providing breast exams and awareness about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer at her namesake suite, Stevens’ wishes will be respectfully honored as a tribute to an extraordinary woman who wanted to give her friends an exceptional gift at 2013 AEE.
