Stormy Daniels’ latest and most ambitious addition to her couples’-friendly catalog of mainstream movie adaptations has some excellent sex, inside jokes, and a massive cast.
Borrowing themes from “Mr. And Mrs. Smith” and “Team America: World Police,” “Operation: Tropical Stormy” features Daniels and Evan Stone as a married pair of CIA agents who bumble into saving the United States from the barbecue sauce poisoning scheme of North Korean wacko Jong Il.
Along the way there’s plenty of office sex (a scenery-chewing Randy Spears with Shyla Stylez and Carolyn Reese), cannibal sex (Wicked contract girl Mikayla Mendez competes with the awesome-nippled Havana Ginger in a group grope on the beach), and boat sex (Daniels and Stone recreate a scene made famous by Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson).
What set the movie apart were the nods to the adult industry. Nina Hartley appears briefly as the Queen of England and Dave Cummings cameos as the President, delivering one scene from the toilet (the movie was shot during the last administration). But fans of Stormy’s first “Operation” (“Desert Stormy,” featuring Ron Jeremy as Saddam Hussein) will remember that it was Steven St. Croix who originally played her husband.
The movie opens in an operating room. It is revealed that George had a price (four bucks) on his head and needed plastic surgery to avoid assassination. So George requested that he be made to look like “a porn star named Evan Stone.”
(Later, Stone asks Stormy if she “wanted to have sex with Evan Stone, or did you want to have sex with me?”)
Daniels peeks under the new George’s pajama bottoms to see one of the other benefits of the makeover.
“After performing a facelift of this magnitude,” the surgeon says, “we had so much skin, we didn’t know where else to put it.”
I am not privy to why St. Croix was not recast. It might simply be because Stone’s name on a boxcover is synonymous with “Your Girlfriend Will Watch, Too.” But Stormy does ask the doctor to “laser off that stupid tattoo” (St. Croix has a big tattoo on his arm) and she later refers to the first George’s “tiny, crooked dick.”
And this is one example of how “Operation: Tropical Stormy’s” humor is a little dark. Daniels’ character spends a lot more time verbally and physically abusing her husband than having sex with him, and the To Be Continued ending is all about spousal betrayal. That doesn’t seem couples-friendly to me.
What does, of course, is British eye candy Marcus London and Tony DeSergio in scenes guaranteed to please the ladies, as well as a spirited scene between Tommy Gunn and Gianna Lynn.
But the best scene was the boat sequence. Stormy props herself on the prow at one point and she has never looked better.
But the rest of the movie doesn’t look as good as this scene. The lighting, as is the case with many Wicked titles, is often maddeningly low, with the effect being that the audience is aware of what it is missing.
It is clear that this movie wanted to be as light and crowd-pleasing as any romantic adventure comedy you’d see at a multiplex – except with sex – but sometimes you’re left thinking, “Why is Stormy so mean to him? And who turned out the lights?”
Still, this movie is a professionally made and girlfriend-pleasing addition to “Operation: Desert Stormy” with plenty of pretty people in it and market-savvy references to products that have made money in the mainstream world. It will definitely do well (and I don’t want Stormy mad at me).
