[PR] Lawsuit reveals porn’s true value

Typos and grammatical snafus aside, the press release below indicates porn’s continued war against those who would pirate it. The “YouJizz” family of tubesites, and its owner, Igor Gens, was most recently sued by Zero Tolerance, and last year was sued by Private for multiple copyright infringements.

Sadly, whoever wrote the press release forgot to correct the damages sought amount, which may have been a Freudian slip.

The following is a press release reprinted to enlighten non-adult industry readers about how the porn business talks about itself. It was written by an adult industry marketing professional.

Zero Tolerance, Black Ice and Third Degree Films Sues Youjizz.com, Igor Gens, and others for Copyright and Trademark Infringement

June 20, 2012 – Arizona – Award winning adult studio Zero Tolerance along with its sister companies Black Ice and Third Degree Films filed a copyright and trademark infringement lawsuit worth in excess of 0,000,000 against YouJizz.com, IG Media Inc., Igor Gens and others. The lawsuit, filed by Attorney Chad Belville in US Federal Court, District of Arizona, claims infringing acts on over 1,000 of their protected collective works. One Third Degree Film, Teens in Tight Jeans was viewed on one infringing site over 5.5 Million times!

In a 2012 Special Report, Ambassador Ronald Kirk, Office of the United States Trade Representative wrote, “The increased availability of broadband Internet connections around the world is generating many benefits- However, this phenomenon has also made the Internet an extremely efficient vehicle for disseminating copyright-infringing products, replacing legitimate markets for rights holders.” 2012 Special 301 Report, Executive Office of the President of the United States, Page 16, http://www.ustr.gov/sites/default/files/2012%20Special%20301%20Report_0.pdf

Zero Tolerance founder and CEO Greg Alves says, “These sites have committed massive copyright and trademark infringement and that hurts our brands. Our fans have come to rely on our top quality high definition video and we will not let thieves destroy that work. Our Studio continues to be in the fight against piracy.” Attorney Chad Belville said, “This could be the longest copyright case filed in Arizona; this case is definitely the longest I have ever filed by a long shot. ”

This is as it should be, and yet strangely specific while still being infinitely vague: masterful, really.
