Sex on a Plane: “Passenger 69”

“Passenger 69” is an odd film. It makes so many interesting, thoughtful choices that you’d expect the sex to somehow transcend every other porn movie, too. Sporting an international cast (including Page 3 Girl Gemma Massey) and featuring exciting amounts of alcohol and guns, you’d also think the movie might actually work a 69 in there.

Studio: Bluebird Films
Director: Marc Twain
Starring: Lindsey Dawn McKenzie, Madelyn Marie, Jennifer Dark, Puma Swede, Angelica Heart, Brianna Blair, Jasmine Jolie, Gemma Massey, Billy Glide, Ramon Nomar, Charles Dera, Tommy Gunn, Marcus London

A boobie-filled takeoff (get it?) on “Passenger 57,” Bluebird’s loose (get it???) parody takes the usual opportunities to get the sex happening on a plane but also invents some new ones.

For example, when the female terrorists succeed in drugging (and fucking) their way past men who might be obstacles and take over the plane, passenger Briana Blair says, “There’s so many things I never got to do.”

Instead of resorting to a dream sequence, Blair then has a threesome with fellow captive passengers.

Similarly, Massey gets naked as a result of liberal dollops of on-board alcohol.

Alcohol is also a factor in a genuinely exciting incident at the security gate.

It’s things like terrorism, threats of gun violence, and alcohol consumption that were all refreshing breaks from the norm in “Passenger 69,” protected as many porn consumers are by the “no suggestions of non-consensual sex” codes enforced by companies like Adam & Eve that manage to take a lot of fun out of their movies in the process of being so careful.

But based on the presence of these bursts of fresh air, I wanted the sex to be less commonplace. It was as if the script was ahead of the talent, and producers thought the sex didn’t have to match the script. A further example of this hubris (and a peeve that is way bigger than a pet at this point), is that “Passenger 69” didn’t have a single goddamn 69 in it. That number should be retired if pornographers are going to continue misusing it. I felt the same way when a certain position was not displayed in “This Ain’t The Mission XXX.”

I appreciated “Passenger 69” for fun moments like that Nearer-My-God-to-Thee mile-high-club, but you might have to wait for the Criterion Edition to get such thought-provoking sex. That said, it’s still way better than “Flight Attendants.”
