Mark my words: Until the world agrees on MILF standards there can be no peace. Consider native Liverpudlian (despite how it sounds, that’s not dirty) Tanya Tate.
GP: Ms. Tate, it’s important for me to reconcile as many definitions of MILF that I can before my organization can hope to bring about real change. From what I’ve read, the English language seems to have been invented down the street from you. What do you think of when I say “MILF”?
Tate: “Mum I’d like to Fuck.”
GP: Fascinating. So in England you say “Mum” for “Mother” and “Lorry” for “Truck”? If you make the full changeover to metrics, we might not be able to understand each other at all.
Tate: I am referred to as a MILF, yet I have no children. Girls tend to be classed as milves in the U.K. when they are 30-plus years old. In the United States it seems to be younger, maybe 25 or so. Which brings in the new phrase “cougar,” which is simply an older woman that likes to fuck younger guys. She hunts them out. So I guess I am both MILF and cougar.
GP: When I think of hot older women in the U.K., I think of saucy Cockney bar wenches throwing their skirts around and aging Spice Girls throwing their skirts around. What do you do when you’re not being a porn star?
Tate: Because I am so busy all the time travelling and working, I don’t get much time to myself. When I am off I love to chill out with my girlfriends and family. I love a nice bottle of wine, getting my pjs on and having a girlie catch up at home: a pyjama night. Sometimes I go to the theatre with my mum. we have gone the theatre a lot since I was young. Or just go out for a meal with some friends. I love to be pampered in the spa, keep myself fit by working out at the gym and, of course, what all girls love, shopping.
GP: One of the intriguing things about you is that you were a MILF (by some definitions) when you started your adult career. What made you first decide to do porn?
Tate: I was at a time in my life when I wanted to do something more exciting with my life. I was watching a porn movie and I thought, “You know, I could do that.” So off I went, researched the market, and contacted some of the U.K.-based production companies. I got some interviews and castings, and it went from there. Now I love to perform on camera, more than I ever imagined.
GP: You’re British. Do you like the Teletubbies?
Tate: My kick is knowing that there could be someone there now watching me on the internet or on their TV screen, playing with themselves and getting really turned on. That really turns me on.
GP: What talent from the British Isles should we be aware of?
Tate: One of the longest in porn UK pornstars, Cathy Barry, I have met a few times. She is so sweet and so down to earth, such a lovely person. One of my hot friends from Britain who is still new to porn is Kerry Louise; we have lots of hot fun together in our personal life. Nikki Jayne is really hot, we know each other from back in the town I now live in, Manchester. But one of the more famous British pornstars I enjoy watching and would love to have fun with is Alicia Rhodes.
