This Ain't The Moth XXX: Crystal Ray's Oxycontin story

In their on-set meltdowns before his camera, pornstresses regularly out-emote slews of Oscar winners for Jim Powers. But Crystal Ray’s Oxycontin story takes the prize.

Make no mistake that there are a lot of people who watch porn in a spirit of schadenfraude; they want to see others fail. So, while I find a lot of Jim Powers’ work to be the most creative in porn, a greater amount of his backstage videos, such as the “Porn’s Most Outrageous Outtakes” series, indulge in some real human misery in the guise of entertainment or telling it like it is.

“I don’t care about what these idiots like Shelley Lubben says,” observes Jim Powers in the fifth installment of “Porn’s Most Outrageous Outtakes,” “but porno is one of the only places some people can function.” Either that or be allowed to get away with—untreated—the things they do.

Powers introduces each scene, culled from nearly two decades of shooting for JM Productions, providing as much context and backstory as he can, which achieves the secondary effect of teaching the viewer some valuable porn arcana, like what a “mope” is.

(A mope is a guy who comes to gangbang, bukkake, or gokkun shoots and works for a pittance or for free.)

Among the highlights, Beverly Hills and Missy Woods, naked and sex-flushed, talking about the great time they just had.

The lowlights include the tragic tale of Crystal Ray, who relates the tale of eating one of the 20 Oxycontins her suicidal father just vomited. “Pray to Jesus and He’ll jelp you,” she sobs.

“She’s as smart as a pigeon,” Powers says. “A nincompoop.”

There are lots of tears and tense moments, all captured on film with real glee. It’s the only type of porn I feel a little dirty for watching.
