Sometimes we sensitive artists who have to make a living will create something that, for whatever reason, isn’t purchased.
For example, now and then I’ll write something for Fleshbot that will get rejected because it “sounds too much like an ad for the porn company” or because it doesn’t have numerous recursive links back to Fleshbot’s database or to, if all else fails, some female-positive gallery with bad HTML. (I kid because I love.) Or I’ll pitch something to XBiz that gets rejected based on their own exacting standards (ditto). AVN, of course, printed everything I ever wrote because I’m a genius.
So one is required to have alternate sources of publication, otherwise all that art will back up, causing prostate trouble and hysteria.
Anyway, I was talking with my new best friend Vena Virago, who art-directed Art School Sluts and Neu Wave Hookers for Eon McKai. She put together a scene between Veronica Jett and Tyler Knight called Nietzsche Bangers, in which the two humans, all too humans ponder the nature of Truth whilst fucking.
I must say that I almost vomited in my own mouth when I saw that someone was trying to get away with quoting Nietzsche in a porn film, in the same way I have no time for any wood-killing pretentious dialogue (see Catherine and Ultra-Vixens NYC). Furthermore, only Schopenhauer’s views as they pertain to gangbangs and other group exercises have any place in pornography.
But Virago (who made an excellent documentary called Pornstar Pets) says she’ll show the eventual movie at art shows or film festivals if, say, VCA doesn’t pick it up.
“As long as people get to see it,” she said.
That is an excellent philosophy, I think. Now if XBiz would only publish my 3,000-word manifesto on Throat-Fucking Porno Whores.
