Emma Rose Wins Big at Trans Erotica Awards

Trans Model Emma Rose won Hardcore Performer of the Year at last week’s Trans Erotica Awards (The TEA Show) at Hollywood’s Avalon Ballroom.

Rose’s win capped a night of awards including Best Non-TS Female Performer, which went to Charlotte Sartre (a full list of winners can be found here). Rose, 26, has been performing since 2020, so this is her first in-person awards show.

The TEA Show, whose principal sponsor is the clipsite ManyVids, is the latest incarnation of a porn awards event for trans performers and, like any adult awards show, it’s interesting to see what terms have survived and which ones have fallen out of favor as sensibilities have evolved, softened, and/or made inroads into the mainstream. The TEA Show is a descendant of the Tranny Awards, for example, which reflected a defiant tone that may not be necessary now. Similarly out the window are “she-male” and “he-she,” which were staple nomenclature of early 21st century porn.
