I have spent the past few days in the Interet-free hills above Toranaga Canyon with director Roy Karch and the tempting (get it?) Emily Evermore. Karch is shooting Insertz, an adaptation of the alcohol-soaked 1974 Hollywood feature of (almost) the same name starring Richard Dreyfuss.
Evermore was perfectly cast as a 30’s party girl. Everybody looks like Daisy Buchanan to me these days.
Also on hand were Nicole Sheridan as Miss Cake and Voodoo as the tortured pornographic genius. I don’t believe those three words have ever been put together in a sentence. (As of 9:03 a.m. PST I was right.)
Karch wrote the script as well as directed. At one point Miss Cake, upon being unraveled by Voodoo, asked:
“Where’s your camera?”
“In my head,” he replied. “And in my pants.”
Oh no you Voo-don’t!*
I will be back in full motherfucking effizect tomorrow. In the meantime, feel free to read this insightful and heartwrenching interview with me in Eros-Zine by the heartwrenching and insightful Burning Woman Abby Ehmann. Or you could view my Showtime debut this Friday in a cameo on the “Debbie Does Dallas” miniseries. Sunny Leone points to me and declares, “I want America’s Beloved Porn Journalist to be my first.”
