Eon McKai is reviving VCA’s New Wave Hookers series with a postmodern update. There is a scene in the new film, co-starring Mrs. Lurk Ford, in which Dana Dearmond and Tommy Pistol portray Traci Lords and Greg Dark filling out her 2257 papers.
I think an industry is mature when it doesn’t need to take itself seriously and thinks itself worthy of being self-referential. (Whether its subject matter is entertaining or not is another matter. You know me, I’m all about the gratification.)
