The Pornographer

The notion of a title like The Pornographer not already being taken confused and overwhelmed me (and in fact there have been several titles with that name, a 2000 indie starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, who really needs to consider the many perks our industry has to offer, as well as a French film from 2001), but this Hustler flick, directed by Andre Madness and featuring Hillary Scott (not Claire Robbins as I’d previously mentioned -thanks TyrionDwarf) on the cover (as well as Steve Austin, in a photo that looks like Russell Crowe had the phone hit him), looks fun.

Although it might be anything but fun Who knows? I only know Madness directed Whores Don’t Wear Panties, and I liked that. If The Pornographer is a dark and brooding study of a man’s search for himself and the existential dilemma of making money through the exploitation of others, then I will be forced to be sad.

The Pornographer also stars Eva Angelina, Cindy Crawford, Claire Robbins, and Chloe Dior.

  1. Dude. That is clearly Hillary Schott, post boob job, on the cover. Moreover, the first name listed on the cover is Hillary Schott, usually a strong tip off as to the name of the cover girl.

How can you confuse Hillary Schott with Claire Robbins? That is like confusing chocolate ice cream with strawberry. Two great tastes, but not the same!

  2. Thanks for the feedback! Usually the first name on the cover is a tipoff as to whom the boxcover gal is, but it is not always safe to trust history in such a rough and tumble business.

Also, do you know something I don’t know about Ms. Scott having an H in her name like the former owner of the Cleveland Indians?

I was told by a Hustler functionary that that woman is Claire Robbins and I will alert him to your challenge. If I hear that he/we are in error, I’ll give you full credit and an apology.

    Yours,

    GP

  3. Oh. The extra H. That mistake is related something I would rather not discuss. Sorry to be mysterious.

And I would be really upset about it except that in the correction you wrote you misspelled my alter ego’s name! It is Tyrion, not Tyrian. 😉

Plus, Marge Schott was the owner of the Reds, not the Indians.

Hmm. You do great work, but maybe you should consider hiring a fact checker.

    Cheers!
