[PR] James Deen out-Dokken’s Dokken in Bend Sinister’s “Quest for Love”

Lee Roy Myers directs James Deen as the character Quest in this ridiculous desert epic from the band Bend Sinister.

Deen crosses the desert holding a boombox that continuously zaps him, and yet he doesn’t become sterile (He probably has his magic couch nearby). In the meantime he absorbs the majestic Dokkenesque bombast of Bend Sinister, whom director Myers met one fateful night in Vegas.

I love stuff like this.

The following is a press release reprinted to enlighten non-adult industry readers about how the porn business talks about itself. It was written by an adult industry marketing professional.

BEND SINISTER PARTNER UP WITH PAPER MAGAZINE TO PREMIERE THE VIDEO FOR “QUEST FOR LOVE”

The Video Features Adult Film Star James Deen as “Quest”
The Band Confirm Additional West Coast Tour Dates for April

“Bend Sinister is one of Canada’s most powerful and most underrated bands.
They don’t write songs, they write ANTHEMS.“

Bend Sinister (Dan Moxon, Jason Dana, Matt Rhode, Joseph Blood) has partnered up with Paper Magazine to premiere the new video for their next single, “Quest for Love.” The video was shot in a day in the Mojave desert with live scenes taken from the band’s performance at the Roxy in Los Angeles this past March. Directed by Lee Roy Myers, the video features adult film star James Deen as the main character Quest. After meeting in Vegas a few years ago, Joseph Blood and Lee Roy decided they needed to work together. He was a fan of the band and wanted to direct their next video. A copy of the album was given to Deen and the rest is video history.

James had some choice words when asked what it was like shooting with Bend Sinister, “I got sunburned as f*ck doing this and I wouldn’t change a thing.” He goes on, “It was worth it. I’m running around and dancing in the desert while wearing 80s metal gear…what’s not to love?”

The band has also confirmed a handful of spring tour dates on the west coast in support of their latest release, Small Fame. The 12-track album was released on July 10 via File Under: Music and is their first full-length album in nearly 4 years. Produced by Shawn Cole (You Say Party!, Yukon Blonde), Small Fame was recorded at Fader Master and Mushroom Studios in Vancouver. The guys will kick off the tour in Salt Lake City on April 17. They will hit Las Vegas, Tucson and Phoenix before wrapping up in Los Angeles at the Hotel Cafe on April 23. More tour dates to be announced shortly.
