It’s the web, right? So I want to do something other than say things like “Nicole Ray is hot” or “Nicole Ray is from the vicinity of Carbondale, Illinois” when I write about her.
I want to give you a website to go to. I want to tell you where she might be dancing. I want to tell you where you can keep track of her movements online.
But I can’t do any of these things, for Nicole Ray leaves no digital footprint whatsoever. Go ahead – Google her. 311,000 hits? Whatever. Not one of those is her own website.
It is as if she doesn’t even exist except on my black couch. Or in the memory of fellow rooters for the Eagles, her high school’s mascot.
One thing is certain: the little indentations she left on the couch? They were purchased by tourists.
How do you secure rights to an indentation, a lack of space? I guess you could find out on its lack of a website.
