Copping a Schiele off Rucca Page

The early 20th century Austrian painter Egon Schiele was no stranger to painting nudes (he was often arrested in pursuit of them), but he usually went for the ribby, spavined kind whose exposed parts were like frank and eerie gateways to the end of the world.

Schiele was not a shrinking violet about his pornography. His titles often made it clear: “Nude Exposing Herself,” etc.

And, while the painter shied away from more full-figured models (with notable exceptions)…

…it is pictures like this one, of Rucca Page (now available through OC Modeling) that make me think of Egon Schiele’s work. Schiele would have liked Rucca’s pubic hair and Rucca could have kept Schiele from plunging into despair and watercolors.
