Intrigue: Stormy’s political advisor hit with car bomb

What appears to have been a bomb destroyed the vehicle of Brian Welsh, political advisor to Stormy Daniels, in New Orleans Monday.

Daniels, whom I have endorsed in her potential Louisiana Senate run against Republican incumbent David Vitter, was having sex with Tony DeSergio on the set of “Sex, Lies, And Spies” 2,000 miles west when the incident occurred.

A surveillance camera recorded someone opening the driver’s side door and tossing something into Welsh’s car. Seconds later the vehicle was engulfed in flame.

“When you rule out everything else, you’re sort of left with the obvious,” said Welsh.

But what is “everything else” and what is “the obvious”? New Orleans is not known for its car bombings. Nor is the United States. Perhaps what Welsh was alluding to is the unexpectedly heated Louisiana Senate race; Daniels is getting a lot of exposure for what was initially dismissed as a publicity stunt, a means to embarrass Vitter, who in 2007 was revealed to have been a frequent client of “D.C. Madam” Deborah Jeane Palfrey’s escort service.

Welsh said that if anyone was trying to deliver a message, he should have tried harder.

  1. Intrigue: Stormy's husband hit by Stormy, domestic violence arrest ensues. Or something. Me thinks the campaign just got eviscerated.
