Hi. If you’re like me, you find the term “mainstream crossover” inadequate to describe a porn performer’s fame. You also think that mainstream success, if it is defined by participation on a VH-1 reality show or the like, is not actually success because the money from one anal scene trumps a season’s worth of non-union wages and does remarkably little for one’s earning potential.
Furthermore, you also think that for the porn industry to define itself by unrealistic mainstream aspirations rather than recognizing itself as an [swallow] art form unto itself is a road that leads nowhere but Tears.
And Frankly (not to be confused with Anne Frankly, Stoya’s new Holocaust Porn character), I think it’s the other way around. Check out Lindsey Lohan’s Twitpic, here.
Lohan is looking more porny all the time, at least in terms of Porn’s negative stereotypes, such as reliance on the Skinny Powder (as Max Hardcore likes to say), self-destructive narcissism, kleptomania, and overindulgence in social networking.
On the other hand, here is perfectly wholesome porn star Scarlett Fay who is merely playing Lindsey Lohan in a new Hustler movie. Do you think the actual Lohan crouches unobtrusively to enjoy her costars’ work? No.
The real Lohan does that outdated Lady Godiva thing with her hair. Who is she, Loreena McKennitt? But this Faux-han knows that a wet t-shirt is better than hair.
Fay also gracefully hands her shirt to the photographer rather than flings it in his face.
