I’m a big fan of Jamye Waxman, who has a rare gift among sex educators: she is able to inform and educate without making sex sound like a patchoulli-scented bowl of granola dumped on a cat-hair-clotted San Francisco futon.
Waxman runs a monthly revue called “Sexy Tales & Other Intimate Acts,” featuring sex-centric music, comedy, readings, and dance. April’s edition, Tuesday the 26th at Hollywood’s Bronson Bar, features Bobbi Starr, Fogelfoot, Bobby Gordon of “Debbie Did My Dad” fame, and other fun acts.

LOS ANGELES —Sexy Tales and Other Intimate Acts, a monthly erotic revue hosted by sex educator and Playboy TV personality Jamye Waxman, returns to Los Angeles Tuesday, April 26. This month’s Sexy Tales, taking place at Sunset Blvd.’s cozy Bronson Bar, features supernova porn star Bobbi Starr, a conversation with “Debbie Does My Dad” author Bobby Gordon, and the way-out sounds of Fogelfoot, among other intimate acts.
“The show continues to be a combination of two things that are very important to me, sexuality and Burning Man culture,” says Waxman. “Since they’re two areas where I devote a lot of time and energy, it came naturally to find a way to combine the two. I’m just so happy that it rocks. I think it’s because there are performances that play on both the senses of sight and sound, and broaden the idea of what is sexy.”
An irreverent and entertaining salon, hosted by the always exuberant Waxman, Sexy Tales promises to dazzle you with its wide range of sensual talent. This month’s show also features Mischa Allen, BDSM songsters Taco Bunny, and Gabriela Knutsen’s Porn Shop Diaries. And it’s all interwoven, as always, with sex advice by Waxman herself.
“I want people to expand their thinking around what is sexy and where sex has to come from,” explains Waxman. “Sure, there’s adult entertainment that’s hot, but there are also a lot of other ways to explore eroticism and passion. That’s what I intend to do here.”
