MyHi.com, which is the web equivalent to eating at the bar at Hooters in the afternoon when the waitresses haven’t yet compacted a shift’s worth of hatred, advertises itself as a relief for the unemployed, the first website to associate porn watching with joblessness.
Combining an accessible girl-next-door vibe with original and harvested photos and videos of women “who don’t end up with man goo all over them,” MyHi also compensates members who contribute blogs, photos, and videos.
I am not quite sure how this is done. The site is in beta (though the domain was registered way back in 2003), and I imagine advertisers will come on board, such as Girls Gone Wild, to drive traffic both to harder sites or tamer ones, as the MyHi model takes advantage of Facebook-style social networking mixed with pinup photography and blogs from resident models.
MyHi.com is refreshing and comfortable, the way an Outback Steakhouse in a town you’ve never visited is still a known commodity. The girls (some of whom, like Phoenix Marie, show up in hardcore porn) aren’t presented as porn stars but as women who don’t need any prodding to take their tops off anyway, and for free.
But this sort of site does underline the fact that if it is becoming more and more accepted for every woman with a gym membership and a valid I.D. to appear naked on the Internet, and I wonder if the day is coming when that won’t be fun anymore, and those guys who are surfing sites like these might just decide to look for work instead.
