As America’s Beloved Porn Journalist of Color, I was honored to be invited to the set of XPlay’s Not the Cosby Show XXX, one of the biggest-budget mainstream interracial porn movies consumers will see.
But despite the expense and the craft services provided by Panda Express, I am here to tell you that depictions of race in American Pornography still have a long way to go.
Here we see Jaelyn Fox and Sarah Vandella (r) tempting Dick James, who plays Lisa Huxtable’s boyfriend. Lisa, acted by Misty Stone, described James’ character as a “cheater.” In this context, James is like Tom Robinson and Vandella and Fox play a pajamaed and quadruple-breasted Mayella Ewell.
When will the white man stop portraying Strong Black Men as adulterers, miscreants, and racetrack sharpies, busting up the chiffarobes and pajamas of white women?
“He hooks up with my best friend and with Jaelyn’s character,” Stone said.
“And I don’t even have a name,” said Fox.
Well, how about we call you White Devil?
Note this slumber party at Lisa’s house. Lana Violet and Stone are the only non-so-called white people there. And look at the only white man, Jay Ashley, riding herd over a harem that includes (from left) Tori Black, Violet, Vandella, Jenny Hendrix, Stone, and Fox. Not the Cosby Show XXX? This is more like Not Birth of a Nation XXX.
But the most damning image, which has been pre-nommed for both a 2010 AVN and XBiz award as well as the Pulitzer Prize, was this one, the bleak holding pen of the movie’s African-American actors, demarcated by police tape.
