Porn doesn’t have to try too hard to be good. And when it tries too hard, its limitations come to light. But movies like “Butthole Barrio Bitches” are nestled right in that sweet spot. And you know where that sweet spot is? The Anus.

Four meaty, sturdy ladies from around the way (Diamond Kitty, Francesca Le, Bridgette B., Vickie Chase) gamely submit to men’s needs. Why do they submit? It’s likely they wanted to anyway, and just needed a good reason.
This is what I like about LeWood Productions (the directing team of performers Francesca Le and Mark Wood); there’s nothing distractingly highbrow—it’s just non-judgmental, trashy fun.
For example, when nurse Francesca Le tries to make Anthony Rosano submit to a rectal exam, he balks, citing insurance premiums, and says that he’ll only do it if she does first.
“But I don’t even have a temperature,” she says.
“How do I know that?” he says.
This is ridiculous in just the right, porny way. But for Le’s tattoos and toned thickness, and Rosano’s lack of pubes and a Jamie Gillis-style New York accent, this scene could have been shot in 1975. It worked then, it works now.
We know Francesca Le is going to be naked shortly, fucked in the ass, etc., so why shouldn’t humor be part of the foreplay?
Less oblique is Diamond Kitty.
“I love tasting my butthole off of your fucking cock,” she declares. “It tastes so fucking good.”
Every scene post-Le reminds us why this movie is called “Butthole Barrio Bitches”; whereas the first scene almost seems like a throwback, the rest are far more contemporary and blatant. Would we ever hear Vanessa Del Rio saying “I love tasting my butthole off of your fucking cock”? No, because today’s porn expects its performers to perform double duty, saying the things they’ve just done, just in case the camera missed it.
That is not to say that the scenes featuring the lush Diamond Kitty (I don’t even know what a Diamond Kitty is, but she’s it), Bridgette B., and Vickie Chase are bad. They are strenuous, squishy exercises. There’s just a little more effort—and a little less exposition—in the opening scene.
Q. But Grams, why the “barrio” part?
A. I don’t know. Some of the women said Sanish things, and some didn’t. We were left to just assume they were Latina.
