Evolution of a Porn Boxcover: “Tosh Porn Oh”

Too often, we don’t get the opportunity for a do-over.

When performer/director Dane Cross first released the box art for his “Tosh.0” parody “Tosh Porn Oh,” featuring Michael Vegas as comedian and viral video commentator Daniel Tosh, the photomontage featured women who appeared to have not been in the room together when the picture was taken, who were illuminated in light from several divergent sources, and whose relative size to one another indicated either gigantism or malnutrition.

“You can’t beat off to that,” the world said. “Unless you’re Germany.”

Now Cross and Sun Lust Pictures have made amends, applying a gentle feathering effect to the ladies and removing both Ron Jeremy and a reference to “Down Syndrome” from the cover. They have also removed the S from Michael Vegas’ name so he appears more ethnic.

I am not familiar with the source material, but I have no doubt “Tosh Porn Oh” will conform to the high quality standards that Vivid demands of its distribution partners, and that porn consumers require of their boxcovers.

(Of course, no boxcover will ever rival the one Dreamzone made for my “Facts of Life” parody. It’s exquisite.)
