Now that I’m almost 23, the thought of nubile and ripe 18-year-old women entering the porn industry, their heads full of dreams, wine coolers, and vindictiveness against ex-boyfriends and drama coaches, does not intrigue me.

It is when I meet someone like Alexis Golden, her feet planted firmly on the ground (but at least a yard apart) and and averaging a year for every inch of bustline that makes me wake up.

What would an independent businesswoman from the east coast, a married corporate consultant with no desire to move to Los Angeles or get a studio contract and a meth habit, want with the porn industry?

Could it be that she actually likes sex?

Gram: You have several websites that feature your many sexual appetites. This might lead many to think of you as an exhibitionist. Are you an exhibitionist or are you a shy person who uses swinging and film to express something she wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to?

Alexis Golden: Oh, I’m definitely an exhibitionist at heart. But it wasn’t always that way. I remember the first time I got fully naked in public. My husband took me to Hedonism III to celebrate the millennium –

Gram: I notice you’re into black guys. Was it the Millennium of Aftermath?

Golden: I’d like to clear up something.

Gram: All right.

Golden: I’m not attracted to all black men just because they are black – the same way I’m not attracted to all white men just because they are white. I’m attracted to men (and women) who are intelligent, funny, confident and have positive energy. Physically I love athletic men. Probably because I’m athletic and need to feel that the man would beat me if we arm wrestled.

Gram: So there you are at Hedonism III in Jamaica…

Golden: I insisted we walk to the very end of the beach, far away from everyone, where I proceeded to disrobe while laying down on a lounge chair. I was so nervous and self-conscious. It didn’t last very long though … in about 30 minutes I was up walking around in all my naked glory. Now look at me!

Gram: Are you a solo swinger or do you go in as a tag team? Describe a good swinging experience and a not-so-good one. Describe the event that made you think, “I’m good at this” or “I like this.”

Golden: For the most part, I swing with my husband. There has only been one occasion in our 13 years together where I met a couple on my own. Gram: What came first for you, porn or swinging? Describe the process of transitioning from one to the other.

Golden: Oh, I was a good Catholic school girl before I met my husband. I will have to give credit (or blame) to Ty. I didn’t even say the words “titties” or “pussy” out loud. I had no toys, didn’t ass fuck and never had a BIG cock or more than one man. He felt I was missing out (and I agreed) and introduced me to the world of swinging.

We met some really cool people over the years and found ourselves taping our sexual escapades. I was sick of Corporate America and was looking for something fun and exciting. A few of my girlfriends who were in the industry encouraged me to start my own site, so I took that box full of videos and put myself online. Gram: Are you Alexis Golden all the time? Has the stage name taken over your life?

Golden: Goodness no, I only do this part time. When the cameras aren’t on, I go back to being a regular person. I live in a small beach community with a lot of retired people. They have no clue who I am and I like it that way. I still do corporate consulting for a very select group of clients, I volunteer at the local hospital and spend my free time chillin’ on the beach. I’d have it no other way.

Gram: Describe the best porn sex you’ve ever had, and what you did to incorporate that into the way you try to shoot all your scenes.

Golden: Porn sex and regular sex are two different animals. It’s really hard to get into porn sex knowing you have a time limit on each position you’re in, having to be conscious of camera angles and the faces you’re making and of course where the cum shot is going to land. When it comes right down to it I prefer to shoot amateur style sex where you can just fuck for fucks sake. That’s what you see on my site and in the movies I produce. Gram: Are there pitfalls to being a businesswoman in this business?

Golden: Perhaps the most frustrating for any business person attempting to function in the adult industry is the lack of planning and follow through. Seriously, I’ve never seen anything like it. I come from a world where your schedule is planned out by the hour, months in advance. Let’s face it – time is money. In the adult industry winging it seems to be the norm. So much time is wasted.

That’s why I prefer to run the show. The majority of what I do in porn is all for me … I shoot my own content, manage my own site, produce my own movies and do all my own marketing. My technical and business background makes for a great combination for a woman in porn. My DVDs are ranked right alongside those from big production companies.

Gram: How often and where do you travel for your job?

Golden: Once or twice a year I travel to Los Angeles for two weeks of shooting. The rest of the time I travel in spurts. I could be in two to three major cities a month or not travel at all. So far this year I’ve been to Vegas, LA, Chicago, Tampa, Portland-ME and Ft. Lauderdale. In two weeks will be in DC. The rest of the year I’ll be hitting Houston, Philly, NYC and wherever else the money takes me.

Gram: Have you ever tried living in Southern California? What’s the appeal of where you live?

Golden: I’m an east-coast girlie through and through. I have traveled all over the United States and for me there is nothing like the history of the cities here, the energy the hustle and bustle brings and the drive to “get it done.” I was born in New York City, got my undergraduate and masters in Philly, and just recently moved to small island off the coast near Miami. Now I’m an east-coast beach bunny.

Gram: This is a question I ask often, because it’s amazing how many different answers people have: How would you describe a cougar and a MILF, and which are you?

Golden: MILF is an acronym for “Mother I’d Love to Fuck.” So if you’re a dude and you see an older women, most likely a mother, and you think she’s hot then she’s a MILF.

A cougar is a hot woman, 35-plus, who seeks out younger guys like prey. Hence the animal reference.
