I’m walking through the Adult Entertainment Expo when I bump into Lee Bang. He can be an imposing dude if you’re the kind of person who finds tall bald black guys imposing. But this year the AEE features waitresses bringing drinks, so we drink and talk about his wife, Sophie Dee.
“I just went over there for two weeks,” Bang says, “met the family.”
“There” is Wales, where Dee is from. Bang traveled the countryside with Dee’s family and took in the sights of the consonant-obsessed country.
“And what did they make of you there?” I can’t help but ask.
“Oh, it was very pleasant,” Bang says.
We watch a line form in front of his wife, who is signing glossy photos on behalf of PornStarDater. I have seen Sophie at so many events, and she is gracious to everyone, even covered in oil.
I ask Bang to stand over her and look menacing, but it doesn’t work. He just looks kind of happy.
How do porn star marriages work, where both partners have sex on screen with other people? Even in the pimpiest of “it’s just business” scenarios, it’s hard.
But visiting Wales for two weeks? That’s love.
